You may have carpal tunnel syndrome. Ask your doctor for a correct diagnosis.

My sister had a similar problem for years and seems not to have something wrong, it's just annoying. They have tried many things: diabetes, multiple sclerosis, carpal tunnel syndrome, hypothyroidism, and I'm sure. I recommend that you test these things because the hands may tingle seems to be a symptom of them. Our current theory on the problem of my sister, there is a hole in the bones of the wrist all the way through the nerves. They may be too small, pinching nerves a bit. Annoying and painful, but more or less harmless.

Circulation may be poor. I want a doctor if it continues to see, you sleep with your hands behind your head or between the thighs? If you do this, I'll try not to do it over night and see if the problem persists.

It may also fear. I'm not quite sure how it works, but I remember someone telling me your hands, feeling of pins and needles is linked to the fear.

Sounds like the nerves are pinched in the neck - maybe sleep on the wrong kind of pillow.

The nerves can be damaged over time, if not relieved the pressure on them. Once damaged by a point, the damage is permanent.

If I were you, I'd like a chiropractor and / or an orthopedic surgeon who treats problems of the spine to see.
